最近、人やものの名前がすっと出てこない。

どうも疲れてぼんやりすることが増えた。

以前では考えられないような度忘れやうっかりミスが増えた。

認知症の中でも、全体の70%を占めるアルツハイマー病。

通常、アルツハイマー病は40、50代ころにその芽が育ちます。

潜伏期間は10～25年。

その間、ほとんど自覚症状はありません。

神経細胞やシナプスは死滅を続け、脳はゆっくりと萎縮していきます。

そして、60．70代　ついに物忘れなどの認知症が現れ始めたとき、すでに脳はボロボロ。

病は末期に差し掛かっています。

現在、日本人の65歳以上の高齢者の3人に1人が認知症と言われています。

2015年の厚生労働省の調査によれば、日本には今、約520万人の軽度認知障害（MCI）、いわゆる予備軍のほうがいます。

また、ただの廊下だろうと思い込んだり、認知症と診断されることを恐れて受診を避けている。

まさに右を見ても左も見ても認知症・・・。

病院はん認知症患者で溢れかえり、街を歩けば常に視界のどこかに認知症患者がおり、家族・親戚にも必ず一人や二人は認知症患者がいて、若い人たちみなその介護に疲れ果てているというような、世紀末的な光景が浮かんできます。
